About

Say hello!

Say hello!

My name is Karla, I’m a 20 something/stay at home girl who is currently unemployed and taking advantage of it. I dropped out of a fancy grad school last year and now I’m just trying to have it all!

Dropping out of school was one of the hardest decision I have had to make in my adult life. I knew if I continued going to school I would be miserable for the next two years of my life- a sacrifice I was not willing to make. So I moved back home to california with my parents only to find myself not feeling any better about my situation. I was completely lost, all I ever knew how to do was be a “student” and all of a sudden that was gone. Depression got the best of me, my grandma passed away and  everything was dark. I was so scared, I kept thinking “when will things get better?” Let me tell you now, they get better! I sought out help when I realized I wasn’t myself anymore. Although it was a S L O W and torturous process, I can truly and honestly say that today I feel a lot better! Not to say that everyday is going to be rainbows and unicorns but now I have a handle on how to deal with those nasty depression days.

So what does any of this have to do with my BLOG? Well, let me tell you – while I was going through this rough patch I rediscovered my love for art and DIY projects. My mom took me to the local craft store and bought me a bunch of little weird-o things to keep my mind occupied. I found that making things was the best way to keep myself sane and healthy. DIY saved my life. I want to make sure people know that there is hope, and that finding support is crucial to helping battle mental health issues. With this blog I hope to share some of my experiences and ideas with people and use this platform as my own healing process.

Thank you for reading and stay tuned for some fun and easy DIY projects.

Best,

Karla
